Overview
Let’s say you have a problem with the floor.
Typically, the guy on the floor will call or send an e-mail to the plant
engineer. The plant engineer will go to the floor or send an e-mail
explaining how to fix the problem. Sound familiar?
Two months have past and the same problem happens again. What happens? You
got it - the same thing! How much time is lost because this information is lost?
FactoryBook is an online collaboration system designed to solve this dilemma.
Instead of sending an e-mail, the technician posts a message to an online forum.
An e-mail will be automatically dispatched to the Plant Engineer and they can
post the information in the forum. If it is common problem, he can also add the
information to a Wiki page. At this point, the information is captured in the
forum. The next time the problem occurs, the shop worker simply looks in
FactoryBook and sees exactly how to fix the problem.
FactoryBook provides simple tools to capture the intelligence of people who know
your factory and share this information with all the other people running your
factory.
